Funding for Food Stamp Outreach

Food Stamp Outreach and Access Program - Match Funding Opportunity

About This Pre-Application: If your organization is conducting food stamp outreach or is interested in providing this service to families or individuals below 165% of poverty, you may be eligible to participate in the Food Stamp Outreach Partnership Program of the California Association of Food Banks (CAFB).  Completing this online pre-application form will help us to determine if you are eligible to apply for this funding.  All eligible organizations will receive the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) that will be released early 2008 for Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2008-09 funding beginning October 1, 2008.

About the Funding: Funding is administered on a quarterly reimbursement basis and requires a "local match."  The match can be comprised of any non-federal source of money as long as it is not already used to draw down another source of federal reimbursement.  Participating organizations are reimbursed 1/3rd of the entire program costs spent on allowable activities. This means that for every $1 spent by a partner organization on allowable food stamp outreach activities, CAFB will reimburse $0.33.   If you have questions about the reimbursement formula, please download this one page factsheet describing the forumula. At anytime, feel free to email Jessica Bartholow, statewide program manager, at jessica@cafoodbanks.org.
